# Using an Azure Application Gateway SSL policy with Ingress

An Azure Application Gateway SSL policy allows you to configure the security settings for SSL/TLS connections between clients and the application gateway. By defining an SSL policy, you can specify which protocols and cipher suites to use, enhancing security, meeting compliance requirements, and optimizing performance. Configuration can be done via the Azure portal, Azure CLI, or ARM templates. See the Microsoft [documentation](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/application-gateway/application-gateway-ssl-policy-overview) for more information.

To use an Application Gateway SSL policy with Ingress for your ALB Load Balancer, follow these steps:

1. From the DuploCloud Portal, navigate to **Administrator** -> **Systems Settings**.
2. Select the **System Config** tab, and click **Add**. If the setting is already configured, click the menu icon next to the setting, and click **Update**. The **Add Config** or **Update Config AppConfig** pane displays.
3. In the **Config Type** list box, select **AppConfig**.
4. In the **Key** field, enter `AZURE_APP_GATEWAY_SSL_POLICY`.
5. In the **Value** field, enter your Azure Application Gateway SSL Policy (for example **AppGwSslPolicy20220101**).
6. Click **Submit**.<br>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.duplocloud.com/docs/automation-platform/kubernetes-overview/ingress-loadbalancer/aks-ingress/using-an-azure-application-gateway-ssl-policy-with-ingress.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
