Troubleshooting OpenVPN Connection Failures

If you're experiencing connection failures with OpenVPN where you see the error "There was an error attempting to connect to the selected server", follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Step 1: Download a Fresh Connection Profile Connection profiles may become outdated and cause connection failures. To get a new profile: Go to the DuploCloud portal Navigate to Profile → VPN IP Address Enter the email and password provided on the DuploCloud portal profile screen Download the new connection profile Remove your old profile from OpenVPN Connect and add the new one Step 2: Reinstall OpenVPN Connect Application If updating the connection profile doesn't resolve the issue, try reinstalling the OpenVPN Connect application entirely. This is often the most reliable troubleshooting step and can resolve underlying application issues that prevent successful connections. Additional Notes These troubleshooting steps work for both production and non-production VPN environments. If you can connect to one environment but not another, the issue is likely with the connection profile or the OpenVPN Connect application itself rather than network connectivity. If you continue to experience issues after trying both steps above, contact support for further assistance.
